Fear of Rejection

Let’s explore your results:

The greatest thing that is holding you back is a fear of rejection. You might be a force to be reckoned with – however, you likely are allowing other people’s opinions of who you are to effect who you are destined to become. While you love getting to know others and often like to see the best in them, you overthink how they view you. The mind-games that you play because of your need to be accepted are crippling some of your greatest strengths. The good news is, you are not alone. Truthfully, no one likes the idea of “not being liked” or even feeling unloved by others – but for you, the pain runs far deeper than that. Your NEED to be loved and have the approval of others is far more than that of the average person because you have determined that your value is linked to their opinions. Sadly, some of your greatest ideas and contributions have been left unheard because you are worried about the perception of those around you. Ironically, when you learn how to genuinely and authentically be yourself regardless of others opinions, those same people will actually be drawn to you. However, in order for this to happen, you must begin to accept all the many aspects of who you are. Chasing the person that others want you to be will only leave you feeling alone and empty. Own who you are instead of borrowing an identity that other people have only leased to you!

Here is how you can start changing the pattern: walk proud. The best thing you can do to stop being a pushover to what others think of you is to unapologetically own who you are. Make a list of all the things that others might feel are “controversial” about the person you are and write next to each item why you are proud that that is something you possess. Start becoming your own best cheerleader – not so that you might become prideful, but so that you might become self-aware to the things that make you uniquely you – the very things that give you an advantage in a world where everyone is quick to conform. Be the person you were meant to be and stop allowing others, and your fear of rejection, to determine who you are meant to become!
